Vancouver Opera remembers Soprano Erin Wall

Friday, October 9, 2020 Everyone at Vancouver Opera is devastated by the news of the passing of renowned Canadian Soprano Erin Wall. Erin was an accomplished stage and concert artist with an international career.  In 2006, Erin made her debut at Vancouver Opera as Marguerite in Faust with Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She performed Violetta in La Traviata (2011), Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (2014). Her last role with Vancouver Opera was Desdemona in Otello (2017). Onstage she was a wonderful artist with a glorious voice, a generous colleague and consummate professional whose singing embodied every emotion and nuance of the characters she portrayed. Offstage, Erin was funny, compassionate, hardworking and fiercely dedicated to family. Erin died from metastatic breast cancer. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her husband Roberto, their two young children Michael and Julia, parents Michael and Suzanne and sister Shannon.
