THREE WAYS TO PLAN YOUR LEGACY GIFT TO VANCOUVER OPERA.

1. Add the Vancouver Opera Foundation clause in your will: “I give the sum of $_____________ to the Vancouver Opera Foundation, a registered charitable organization (832 848 238 RR0001), located at 1945 McLean Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia V5N 3J7.” OR “I give ______ percent of the residue of my estate to the Vancouver Opera Foundation, a registered charitable organization (832 848 238 RR0001), located at 1945 McLean Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia V5N 3J7.” 2. Donate an investment fund as a legacy gift: You can make a legacy gift through gifts of stocks and shares, securities, parts of your TFSA, RRSP, RRIF, or Pension and name Vancouver Opera as the beneficiary. This benefits Vancouver Opera and may reduce the amount of tax on your estate. Please discuss this option with your financial advisor and/or lawyer to ensure this is the right tax-reduction and philanthropic gift solution for you. 3. Donate a life insurance policy: Name Vancouver Opera as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Life insurance policies are not subject to taxes or probate costs and can make a substantial impact through monthly, annual payments. In addition, the Canada Revenue Agency treats all premium payments on that policy as charitable donations eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

  • Take out a new life insurance policy and name VO

  • Transfer ownership of an existing life insurance policy to VO
